Judging by the sign, it's some event that Nikon is a major sponsor of. They probably required official photogs to wear the vests... :idea:

looks like it to me, why is this a surprise? lots of companies sponsor events, not uncommon for their logo to be branded everywhere. pretty plausible that they required all photogs to wear these vests.

Look this is a simple "branding thing.
Nikon sponsored the photo journalist pit, which means they can brand it any way they want.
All photo journalists had to wear orange vests, provided by Nikon.
It's just about the ONLY way you are going to see Nikon in a photo pit in sports. End of the day most of those are canon cameras and lenses. I think Nikon is now selling a sticker and cover replacement kit for all Canon lenses, in fact you can get them for free.

... and when has Canon every branded a shoot this much? I've never seen one, but then I've not been around that long (with an SLR that is).
