This lens really worked great for shooting the Antelope Valley Slot Canyons. I wanted to use my 21mm Zeiss more but the 16-35II simply gave me the perspectives I was looking for. Several other shots using this lens in the canyons can be found here: http://duelinglenses.smugmug.com …eshoeZion/17139171_cCj2kM (external link)

Yes. On a few. Actually my first attempts @ HDR. Seems to be fitting for some of the photos, not usually a huge fan of it though.

Brettski, I like the horseshoe bend shot. Which ND filter did you use?

I used the Tiffen 1.5 ND & a .9 graduated (soft) for those shots.

I love that slot canyon shot so much, it's done perfectly.

Having the 16-35 with my 1D3 helped go wide and get close when my sadly wrecked Honda Accord was being towed away yesterday:

Heh! Yeah, I was expecting an actual tow truck and then this couple showed up. Lucky for them the car was able to start and back out and get in a good position.

Sadly, it's beyond repair.

If you want more of the sad story you can see it here:
