I like your gallery. Very nice work. Especially NYC. I am planning a visit to NYC in Xmas (originally from NJ). Can't wait to get some holiday shots in the city. I don't have this or a WA lens (other than 17-85). But I'll make it work.

Correct... the copy I used was fantastic!

it's not that great that you have to be lucky to get a good copy.
I mean....it's an expensive lens...

Why do people keep saying there is something wrong with the Mark I version of this lens. I think the original 16-35L is very capable. Here are a few shots:

Nice images! The Mark I version was a great lens and a blast to use, but I only used it at 16mm or 24mm, so I'm opting for a UWA prime instead. If I had to choose between the two 16-35Ls now I'd go for the Mark II version since I've gone back to shooting FF.

I think this will be coming with my 5D Mark II when it comes out. For now I think the 15mm fisheye is going to have to suffice.

Great shots all!

I understand what you are saying. You shouldn't have to worry about the lens being soft in the corners or it not being able to handle the flare. After paying $1600 for a lens... I would expect it to be a perfect as Canon can make it. I've never shot with the 16-35 v1 only v2. I liked it enough to start saving for it. I'm moving to Gemany next year and I can't wait to photograph all the places I didn't photograph the first time I was there. I think the lens on the 5D will make a wonderful combo.

Keep up the great work all. Wonderful photos!!!

So, this lens is made for the ff cameras! Here are a couple of my takes, a 5D at dusk (and I do mean well after sunset):

The 1st shot- f/8. The 2nd shot- f/2.8 You will be happy with this purchase. I had the 17-40mm lens (great lens & a lot cheaper) but, if you get the 16-35 that's what stays on the camera. It's a pleasure to use!
