How can shortened or even eliminate long elapse time when doing long/time exposure. Camera Canon 5D. If this can be done, will it increase the noise?

Turning it off will increase noise, but if you make a blank exposure of the same duration you can mask it against the original exposure in PP to get much the same result. Jon
