heyya potn,

let me just say that im usually photographing cars, so when i was called 2 days before thanksgiving to photograph a family for their xmas cards, lets just say i was a bit nervous :D

made a last minute thread in talk about photography (https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=410483) and hortons provided me with some pretty useful info :)

anyways, here are three shots that i took out of maybe 30... before someone mentions why its so symmetrical, there was actually a couch on the left side of the photo, but i figured that if i cloned over the right side, the photo may be a bit easier on the eyes. plus, if i didnt tell you guys i dont think too many people would have noticed :P

any C&C will be appreciated as this is my first time :)

the lighting is real nice, and i like the first two the best. the only thing about the first one: the ceiling kind of detracts from the image.

Very nice, but how did you get the immense detail in the symmetry of the room???

rayboon - thanks :)

freebird - yeah bounce flash. 430ex with a index card attached to it, so it would throw some light into their eyes.

adam trevillian - i agree with the ceiling, but i dont know which ones they are going to print so i tried to keep the 2:3 ratio

elbee19 - haha! thanks, youres cant be that bad! i took about a total of 30 pictures. the first 4-5 were really underexposed so i had to play around with the settings

johnsoir - there was actually a couch on the left side of the room, but i ended up just cloning the right side of the room into the left. the couch was too distracting IMO.

I think you did a very nice job although I think a longer lens would've given you a better perspective (which of course may not have been possible in close quarters ;) ) The second pic would be my favorite. Had the perspective been different, I would like the first better but your foreground subjects are just too out of proportion in comparison to the background subjects.

I like #2. The thing that stands out to me in #1 is the ceiling and the mantel (which seems to come out of the men's shoulders)

Those are very nice. Great color, you positioned them well, and the PP is good too. They are also very photogenic.

Good Job:)
