I recently picked up photography almost full time again and having a blast taking pictures.
My arthritis makes it hard at time to hand hold shot. So I shoot the zoom lenses for the most part on the monopod. I'm using the Manfrotto 3229 head. With the 70-200, I use the dial on the lense to rotate the body into vertical shot. But in the case of the 24-70, when in vertical mode, when equipped with the BG-E2N. It's hard for me to grab onto the body with 2 inches of stuffs between the my hand and the shutter button.
Is there a different head with quick release you recommend that remove some of the distance for me. With the primes, I don't have to worry as much when shooting vertical.
Also, with the 1.6x crop, does depth of field reference chart stays the same?

Now that I got the extreme bokeh out of my system, time to learn how to stop down the lenses for sharper pictures.
