Just wondering if anybody has used the Sigma EF 530 DG Super with the cactus triggers (V2/V2s). I'm about the buy a set, but they don't specify whether they work or not. The only close info is that the 500 ST doesn't work, but the 500 Super does. I want to assume that means the 530 Super will, but I don't want to be out the money.

I know they're cheap, but so am I

Thanks in advance for any info - I googled but didn't come up with anything definitive so I'd love to hear from someone with experience using them together.

I just used the Cactus V2s with a Sigma 500 Super, so I'm sure they will work with the 530's as well. I was VERY happy with the Cactus trigger, they worked much better than I was expecting.

Thank you! I was actually just about to pull the trigger (haha) on it anyway, so that is good to know. Thanks again :D

well, I ordered the durn things, and they don't seem to work! Haven't actually tried it on the camera yet, but tried the test button. Both red LEDs light up indicating that the transmitter and receiver have 'made contact' but the flash doesn't fire. Am I missing something or do I not get to play??

I've never used triggers before, so I could just be doing something really stupid.

The Sigma needs to be in optical slave mode.

Your heartfelt gratitude is duly noted. :D
Seriously, too often people get valuable help from the members here and never respond to acknowledge it.

Now let's see some cool shots with your new setup.
Preferably with a shapely model in the G&N section.

haven't replaced batteries yet... are they not good? The 383 will probably be my next flash purchase, so I'm glad it works with the cactus triggers. They really are a great bargain!

It is stated by Cactus that they are for testing only. Quietly right as some users reported they were totally dead on first inspection through volt meter.

I had no issues with the stock batteries on Metz but Canon 430EX was bit inconsistent with the supplied batteries but became perfectly alright with the new ones.

I think I need to edit this to indicate the instructions work with the Sigma Super 530 DG also.

Enjoy! Lon

This question repeats on a fairly regular basis here and on other flash forums, that is why I decide to answer it in a fairly formal and easily repeatable manner.

Enjoy! Lon

guess I should have searched and had I seen that, i probably would have tried it on my model. I've just more or less given up on finding info about the 530 since it doesn't seem to be too widely used just yet.
