Error message in DPP?

I downloaded the newest version of DPP,Version3.2.0.4.

When I try to open my images i get an error message"dpp.exe has encountered aproblem and needs to close..sorry for the inconvenience"

I've tried re-installing DPP...no resolve.
I'm using a canon40D..shooting raw+jpg

Any help would be appreciated?

Just a thought don't for get to download the CODEC 1.2 which i do beleave you need for the 40D files..
