I do my own retouching.....some shots I put up to 20 hrs of work..zero gaussian/surface blur.

Are you using masked light and dark curves adjustment layers and low opacity cloning?

Indeed...but not clonning at all.

Pham, your shots are so great that it doesn't need much pp, even if you did on them then they are great as they are, i dunno what more you need to learn for pp, smoothing skins or retouching people nowadays is not that hard with almost tons of tutorials, dvds, books to do, even there are softwares which can do some kind of retouching and you can enhance it further more, so just give it a try and i am sure you can do, today i was playing with photos of my kids and my wife, displayed them on my 30" ACD, did some retouching, files from H3D, WOW, i blown away of the shots, clarity and colors and sharpness, perfection!

I use a 21" cintiq at the labs here. You either love them or hate them.
They can be awkward at times. I have mixed feelings about them.

Just getting started with this stuff, this was taken with my 430ex w/ homemade snoot handheld on a monopod w/ shoe cord. I actually broke my cord after this shot when my subject ran over it!
