Thanks man! Those bugs are the most interesting creatures walking on 6 legs. they are incredibly curious and have almost no fear. I even had one take aswipe at my finger with it's big kill spike. I'm just glad that I was faster than the mantis that day. :cool:

A reflector on the right would open up that side a bit, which would make a bit nicer, I reckon.

Short lighting is when you light the side of the face that is turned away from the camera. In the case of his wife it would of been the other side of her face if she were in the exact same position.

Broad lighting is what he did which is illuminating the side closets to the camera. It is usually not very flattering for females unless their face is skinny and structured well. I always try to short light models.

Males are better being broad lighted.
