This is from a shoot I did in a cenote a few weeks back. Full story:

I loved the symmetry and reflection of the image and decided to flip it because of that. I think it brings out the abstract nature of her reflection in that it looks close to perfect, but on close inspection there are flaws which draw the viewer to the bottom half of the image.

nice work.. your use of light and where light isn't is fantastic !! you are pro !!

nice cave shots.. ever damage a flash unit by dropping it in the water?

My softbox complete with 580exII blew over into the lake shortly after taking this one yesterday. Luckily I was able to snag it before the water got to the flash :) Westcott 28x28 dried nicely overnight.

Thanks guys for the good words.

@phamster - I haven't dropped a light in yet. For this shoot, I tested using a flashlight underwater for a bit of color, but I couldn't generate enough light quickly enough (I was working by myself in a big rush).

I did drop a PWII into a lake thankfully it was only about 4 feet deep where I was standing so I could pick it up. I immediately pulled the batteries, shook out as much water as possible and let it dry overnight. In the morning I popped in fresh batteries and it worked perfectly.

Here's two more from a senior session I did with two girls at the same time. We shot most of the photos in the same locations, but I changed up the lighting for each girl. Simple changes with one light make radically different photos.

Patrick those two are stunning. I'm guessing there was a flash behind the girl in #2 and you just removed in #1?

Thanks Jon, the second one obviously has a light behind her, I think about 10 feet back to get "full even coverage". The first shot used a tight grid and IIRC a CTO gel from camera left to give it that sunset look.
