My solution to the politics problem

Great, Penguin. I think it will be helpful to us all if we have some place where we can forward these discussions. I also think a large share of our membership will be equally appreciative. All the bickering was getting pretty tedious for a lot of people.

It's actually just a sub-forum of one of my other forums. Was just tinkering around, thought about a P&N thingy about the same time Penguin posted his and asked him what he thought about it. Apparently, what he thought was that he should post the link right off! . Thanks Penguin!

Anyway, I'll give it a go. In the least, it'll let us know what kind of interest there is in an actual Politics & News messageboard. Not that there aren't all kinds of those out there already.

I am all for political discussion, I even get involved time to time. But I think after this short experiment, things are just branching off and making a mess of every other thread.

Occasionally, threads in this forum get sidetracked into political discussions that frequently take very unpleasant and irrelevant turns. Some of them get downright ugly. I think it is extremely valuable to have a place to go where these things can be discussed without polarizing and alientating the forum's membership.

I appreciate Sketcher providing this opportunity, and I hope it works out.
