This has me real excited. Its so unintuitive to focus on this camera, unless its on auto. If i had my druthers I'd magicly stick a ccd in the back of my old K1000 and call it a day. That thing felt like an extension of my body at one point. I guess the 40D will in time.

Changing out a screen that's designed to be changed by the user certainly wouldn't void the warranty, even if you used a third party focus screen.
