Morgan is around 21 years old and quite smart.

EOS 10D with Canon 100mm f/2.8 at f/8, 1/125 and ISO 200. Post Process with CS3 Photoshop's Transform tool to make the edge of the cage parallel to vertical and cloning out a few distracting details. Wife thinks I should remove the cabinet in the lower left corner, too, so I'll probably do that.

Nice shot, what's that on his leg?

You could do some hand held shots too. Nobody ever posts their pets in the hand. :)

Thank, Mitch. Morgan is open-banded which means that she was imported into this country before the import bans took place.

Here's one of Aga, our Hawkhead whose native range runs from the Guianas to Brazil. This shot was with a Nikon D70:

Nice shots of Morgan and Aga! I would like to see them with natural light.

Morgan is not gregarious with other birds, and Hawkheads are a bit on the edge, so it's not a good mix. Aga probably has a healthy respect for Morgan cuz he knows she would clean his clock if he tries anything funny :)

Natural light is best since the feathers will sometimes become iridescent with a flash.
