I didn't push the exposure much at all in this shot... maybe like .3 stops.

Has anyone had this an actually know what it is and what the fix for it is???

Please help. If I have to replace/repair my camera, that would suck. That would leave me with only ONE good body out of 3!!!

The CF card has been used a zillion times with no problems.

I'm going on the worse-case assumption (that you didn't try the following yet)...

I would try another card. Are you using some sort of UV or polarizing filter? Maybe try another lens?

Short of those variables, I suspect it could be something wrong with the sensor.

RF interference of some sort? Is this the only pic you've noticed this on?

is it only the pics taken in the store or more pics taken elsewhere? Hard to say, maybe a ballast was going out in one of the lights near you at the time - scratch that if it is on more pics taken elsewhere - more info please?

Peace
Mark

One thing . . . under the similar threads there seems to be a lot of similar examples . . .

I have Hoya UV filters on all my lenses. I've been shooting with them for years and never have seen this before.

No, there are many others that I've found so far. I've shot in this location earlier in the year and had no issues either. Maybe there are a couple 'hot spots' that contain a huge amount of RF interference that I may have stepped into.

I'll get back to you on that. I'm hoping it's in one location. Then I guess it could be RF.

Yeah I looked at a bunch, but none solidly hammered down a cause. And lots of them were about high iso noise banding.

I'll keep looking and see what I find...

RFI. Pulsing RFI. In the crop I see four pulses of (looks like) four cycles each.

If we knew the shutter speed we could calculate the pulse rate and (approximately) the frequency of the RF.

So when are the "anti-RFI" filters coming out? ;)

On that note, I wonder if Adobe will release an "RFI Cloning" feature in PS. :D

I think it's the ballast in the lights.

No need. Just wear a tinfoil hat like I do. It'll block the RFI and (much more important) keep the aliens from controlling you from outer space.

My suspicion too. Old style inductive ballasts wouldn't do that, but switching ones do all kinds of funny things...
