I went over to a friends house on Sunday evening to chat with his girlfriend and my fiancee about my upcoming bridal booth in Feb. His girlfriend works for a interior design company, so of course has an amazing eye, and paired with my fiancee I think they are gonna be a HUGE help designing my first booth at a wedding show.

Anyways, my friend Adam just recently got a new espresso machine, so he turned out some awesome latte's for us. I pulled out my tilt/shift which has of late been on my camera 24/7. Here's a few quick shots

Wonderful photos! I love the milk art, though the espresso shot could certainly use more crema. Your friend would get better results if he grinds his own beans, and outstanding coffee if he roasts his own (it's not really hard to do). That Silvia is a good machine, though I'm a Gaggia guy myself. We have the same Reg Barber tamper though :)

forno: Crazy you could tell from my pics which machine it was!

bottombracket: Yeah he was playing around with the 'art'. Dunno if he normalyl does it, but I told him to give it a 'whirl'.

Any normal day I would be asking you what 'crema' was, but after that night I found out. There was actually more in that shot, but after I moved it around and played with it, it seemed to get less and less. The last shot is usually the best, so thats the one I posted. He did mention however that he wanted to get a coffee grinder, and grind his own beans.

bikerider: must be nice to live in Italy!!! of course I bet you have amazing caffe anywhere in town.

Nice shots, different.
He did a commendable job on the Latte art, not easy!
Sorry guys but I'm a lazy a*s Nespresso owner albeit a Gaggia, I must get myself into grinding my own.

Very nice quality photos :-)

What is the 'tilt/shift' you referred to?

Thanks guys! Yeah I thought the art was pretty spiffy myself. He's gotta start trying to do some caricatures :P

Mike-DT6: Here's a link (external link) to Canon's site for the tilt shift lens.
