I'm still waiting for Rob Galbraith to tell me if my camera works or not. If he doesn't do it pretty soon, I might have to figure it out for myself.

Yeah, me too. I'm sure he puts that "later this month" bit in so we hammer his site every hour of every day in case it's there and we can be the first to post it to POTN :D

The irony is, the update is not going to change anyone's mind. If you have a Mk III and it's working for you, nothing negative he says will detract from your experience. If you're having problems with your Mk III, and RG says the problems are solved, you're not going to believe him.

I am interested in his conclusions strictly out of curiosity. They won't affect my iife at all.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I suppose its like having a sore tooth, you just have to keep poking it to make sure it still hurts, even though you know it will.
People want reassurance that their camera is still rubbish/great :)

Holy Cow!! Haven't seen your (smiling) avatar in a while. I was beginning to wonder if you were still around. My wife still refers to you when I read this forum (she thinks I only correspond with you).

Great to see you!:)

That's the funniest thing I have read on this forum in a long time! Thank you.

I finally had my MKIII on it's first major sports shoot (Sprint Boats) since The Fix and it's pretty damn impressive. Much better than my shoots last year. Zero unexplained OOF's. Focus points were right on.

Can you register an AF point like that in the MKII and then recollect it by hitting a button? I'm not a current owner of the MKIII yet but just looking and researching it at the moment.

Glad to hear that, Jim. I wasn't aware you had any problems at all.

...any of you notice that your camera will produce images that are at 200 dpi rather than 72?

Cameras have pixels, printers use dots, they are two entirely different things...
Mine produces a file with images 12.96 x 8.64 @300 ppi...

I understand that, Kenny...I just noticed a difference all of a sudden, and was questioning it...I normally see files at 54 x 36 and 72dpi when I open them in Photoshop and check the image size...some of the images I shot last night are 19.44 x 12.96, but they are not all that way...

Is a used unit "focus upgraded" on January 14 a safe purchase?
