Hey Jake, did your new camera show up yet?...

Yes, it was on my door stop the very next morning after the call I got saying they would over night it..
I've not had a chance to try it beyond some indoor shots.. it works is all I can say now.

They don't seem to want to send back my 100-400mm though? Odd people at Canon.. they've been "done" with the testing that used the 100-400mm for three weeks now. No idea why they still have it.
Maybe because Tom sold me a "hot" one?

Thats good.

I just handed over mine to Canon again. As some already knows mine died on the very first day in africa when I wanted to shoot som whales off the coust of Cape Town. It was dead with a permanent error 99 regardless of lens and even without lens. I told canon that I want a replacement since it was "fixed" for error 99 1 week before I went to africa but that was obviously not properly fixed. I sent the email to Canon monday and no word from them yet.

So, you've had the new camera for almost a week and not one duck shot yet? Wow, I thought Canon was slow with their service to the public. ;)

Not so much. It turns out we were all trying to take bird pictures, and that's not what the camera was designed for.

Apparently the Mk III is now recognized as the ideal wedding camera, so we're all switching to wedding photography.

I've been happy with my camera, but I don't usually shoot BIF. I use it for sports, landscapes/cityscapes and wildlife/zoo.

So that leaves the people taking shots of moving objects on bright sunny days with--The discontinued MKII series--and some serious double talk.
