He did not say specifically why, but his observation on the Mark III is, and I quote, " The Mark III as it currently is sucks major ass. Mine have been in my closet since September 2. I do not have the time or energy to write you about it. The camera sucks."

I don't think comments like this without further elaboration are helpful to anyone

perhaps you needed more than the fix, some cameras needed a little more done which takes longer, are they fixing them in melbourne or all in sydney? i cant see them shipping everything to sydney to fix but who knows, given them a call? rick at cps is extremely helpful.

Canon called me yesterday, (I'm in Melbourne), they are all being sent to Sydney for the fix. I need mine on Friday, so its going to Sydney on Monday.

Let me know if it all worked out O.K for you.

BTW, what is a stopper fix ?

Rick.

My apologies...I did not ask this individual if I could quote him, but for the record, he is one of the principals of Sportsshooter.com...I think his opinion is worth noting...

I just received a phone call from Canon USA. They confirmed my serial number and informed me they will be sending me information by email later today.

I asked her where they were doing the repairs, and she told me it was Newport News, VA. I also asked her if they had been doing CPS member first, and she verified that 'unofficially.' She also said they were doing Explorer of Light members first too.

I can conclude that most (if not all) the CPS members have now been contacted, and they're working their way down to people like me. although I suspect I was fairly high on the list because I called quite early in these discussions.

I was happy to get the call because I had allotted some time later today to check on this. Now I can take a nap instead.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Cool. My unofficial plan is to check into where my phone call has disappeared to on Monday. Hopefully I'll get the call and then I can take a nap too.

I got my call from Virginia this morning as well,.
I hope the very nice woman I spoke to is reading this,. as I think I have a crush on her :)

She was very pleasant and we talked OT for quite some time..
I felt a little guilty realizing that we were making more MkIII owners wait longer for there call, but then I though.. "so what, big deal" :p

It appears Newport News VA, is the epicenter of repairs in the U.S.
