...Though, yours sounds different, since they still haven't got it back yet.

I wish Canon would stop keeping secrets, and accurately update the status page, as well as the completed paperwork. But, they're apparently still afraid of the truth. :(

Best of luck. :(

Happy to hear cameras actually do leave NJ;).

At this point, there's nothing I can do but wait. The information gleaned today was only learned after I asked twice to speak to a supervisor as to the status location of my camera (the first customer service person kept insisting my camera was still in VA).

Mine was also sent in Dec. 17th. At long last I get the staus via website of completed so I called to verify and it's true. I doubt I'll ever know for sure what all was repaired and I don't know that it matters as long as it works like it's supposed to.

Got mine back in the UK today. QUick turnaround (picked up five days ago) - shame I had to phone them to jolly the collection along (I registered on November 30th and am a CPS member...)

The camera came with the letter extending the warranty and also a 2-gig Sandisk Ultra-II card.

Not had a chance to test properly yet - my only observation is that in low-light, it seems to hunt slightly in single-shot mode before settling.

ps -no sticker or any indication on the camera itself that it had been 'seen to' - need to keep the documentation for that...

I think my camera has been repossessed by Canon.

They received it on Dec 17, 2007 at 9:09 AM.
It's now Jan 14, 2008 and it's nowhere to be seen!

I think I'm gonna cry.

Keep the faith guys/gals.

I finally rec'd my 1D3 back from New Jersey on 1/11 after Canon received it in Virginia on 12/18.

I didn't check for dots in the battery compartment or anything, but it seems to be functioning just fine. I haven't had the chance to put it through any serious work as of yet, but it's coming.

Hang in there....

I sent an email to the service on nov 28th. The reply came in on Jan 11th. I received the UPS label on Jan 13th, and shipped it the same day. Let us see how is goes on...
BTW, I think it's a good idea to batch the repairs, since the camera wasn't totally broken and useful in a limited way (otherwise you'd wait for longer than the predicted 2 weeks).

Two bodies left, some "soso" lenses, and still a lot of gear.....

I have been on the list since 11/17. They finally called me last Friday and said the labels would be emailed on Monday. I guess there is still 49 minutes left here on the west coast, but it appears like I will have to call tomorrow and see what is the hold up.

Hi Guys

I have got to say I am really impressed with Canon, mine came back this morning, with a letter detailing the repair and a letter from Canon extending the warranty from the date of the repair and a CF card compliments of Canon.

Mine has only been away 6 days so I am more than happy, expecially as i have a new warranty.

Well praise the Lord and pass the ammunition! Just checked the repair site and found this glorious news - "Completed
(Unit will be delivered to you within approximately 4 business days)"

got this message today:

We would like to thank you for returning your unit for repair, and acknowledge receipt of your product. Your order number for this repair is stated above. Please note that to proceed with a repair under warranty we require your purchase receipt. If your repair is not covered by warranty (or you are unable to provide proof of purchase) we do require payment before we are able to proceed with your repair.

Their original e mail about sending the MK3 in never mentioned enclosing receipt - maybe this is just an automatic relpy I can ignore?

Yes I rang too - seems they are not in a position to change this standard reply and are having to handle a lot of calls like ours as a result.

It looks like the giant sleeping Canon corporation has awakened just enough to let me know that my camera repair has been completed and will be back in my hands within 4 business days. I've got my fingers crossed that it works as well as some have reported when theirs had been fixed.
