It appears that I'm not asleep yet...the boys at the tonemapping labs kept me busy...

are you buying one?

LOL! I knew you'd still be up. I almost put a little note in my last post for you, but decided not to.

Am I buying one? Doubtful. Kind of toying with the idea.

Good to know.

That explains why Permie has been threatening to jump ship. Her Mk III is now completely worthless.

well, it has been keeping flies from coming through the ripped screen on the cat porch...

I figure if I can sell the XT kit and the 30D I could almost get one for nothing. How's that logic?!

Guess you guys missed the big announcement.

The new Nikons are so good, Canon has decided to give up. No new models, ever. They're just going to sell off what they have for whatever they can get, and go into the screen door business.

It's all over.:(:(:(

wooohooo I am so glad. I hate canon and I am now glad I will be forced to nikon.

Spray and pray eh?

Sorta, in a way. 215 frames fired, 65 keepers. I was using high speed drive to ensure a few more keepers or to catch that elusive expression. Animals don't wait for you, especially 1 year old dogs!

I bought the 40D for fps.. might as well use the fps :D

The 60 macro headshots turned out fantastic. 28 is better for full body or if you are sitting almost on top of the dog. I'm wondering about the 50/1.4 right now....

It isn't as bad as it seems. We had a couple guys shoot some magazine ads in our pumpkins one year and he was using a H1 with a film back. Didn't seem any more awkward than a DSLR.

The Contax 645AF I worked with had the prism finder and handgrip on the side. Felt very SLR-ish, I would say like a slightly boxier version of my former 1D cameras. I held and worked it just like I would a SLR with large lens.

The Pentax 645 is also similar.

good idea. I think it'll make a great backup to the 5D.

My sister's PS A720 IS was on the doorstep when I got home. I ordered 3 extra sets (4 in a set) of extra rechargeable batteries. But I think it only takes 2. She's going to have plenty of batteries!

I don't think I'm going to get the shots up tonight. Zenfolio is running super slow. 2 shots (total 25mb) are (supposedly) taking 42min. to upload. So I guess I'll show you the labwoik tomorrow. Wonder what's up...I've read other people complaining that Z is running slow but I hadn't experienced it until now. hmmmph

I want to keep building a back catalogue so if anyone else tries to steal it, they can't :)
