Ooooh, Tortilla Soup.

We have a restaurant here...actually part of a chain....Islands. They have the best tortilla soup I've ever had, and they serve an 'endless bowl,' i.e. all you can eat. I'm usually good for only one refill.

They also have great hamburgers, but they're messy. Especially the Hawaiian Burger (teriyaki, pineapple, bermuda onion, etc.)

Yum! Love Islands' Tortilla soup...

I don't know why not. I'd be thrilled to have a friend nearby, even if he only liked me for my area restaurants.

If you get down to this neck of the woods, I'll take you to our local Islands... Don't you live somewhere near Palm Springs? Our local group gets up trips to Joshua Tree every so often...

Woohoo - I did my POTN Civic duty and voted. I abstained from Performing Arts because I don't know how to judge them - only one caught my eye...

And the G&N section will take me a lot longer to judge... I need to look those photos over VERY thoroughly....

I haven't voted yet but had a quick look at some of the sections. There are some really beautiful shots. I'm now ashamed to have submitted a few :o

While in undergrad, one of my wife's roommates was an Islands waitress. We visited whenever I was in town, and took full advantage of her status as an employee.

A little later, when I worked in Glendale, there was an Islands downstairs from the office in which I worked. I will neither confirm nor deny that their cheese fries make a meal.

And I can assure you that the clothing stains sometimes obtained while eating said Hawaiian burger are indeed worth the price to be paid. :D

hey everyone. well I got some news on the job front. I've got one, woohoo. that's been 1 year with no work and supporting myself :)

I don't start till the 7/1/08, so I have got between now and then to move to auckland.

Congrats! Having no idea of the geography, and being too lazy to look it up right now, exactly how far are you having to move?
