We can't diss our own forum members so we have to pick on someone :-D

True, true... so after we're done with the Spears and Hilton families, who's next?

Oh, are we in the middle of a session of "dissing the celebs"? Wouldn’t it be better not to pay any attention to them at all? :)

(Of course not... as you were... carry on)

Yes, but unfortunately, every news program carries something about them. They went out on the town, they're not wearing underwear. You name it, we hear about it. It's sickening.

I know. I think it’s ridiculous what qualifies as news today. Journalists today can definitely not be proud of their profession anymore.

And when people see you passing through with some nice camera gear they think you are the papparazzi. WTF?

Good point. Trailer trash doesn't seem to have a shred of anything...except the ability to be in the headlines.

I was at the beach last January and some couple was like "are you a stalker or papparazi?" and I responded with "are you someone famous that I should be taking photos of?" and they said "no" so I said "then no... I am not - I am taking photos of the beach..."

Seems like modern "journalism" and news no longer have anything in common. If it isn't sensational or trashy, it doesn't make the cut.

Uh, I'm gonna have to call BS on this one. I can confirm 100% (and Puddle will back me up on this) that is NOT how the conversation with the NCH went AT ALL!

;):p

Add 'pervert' to the list these days.

I long for the good old days of innocence when the camera was just a damn camera and hadn't been twisted to suit the evil purposes of those with less than honorable intentions. It makes life so much harder for those of us who choose to live life with integrity.

I don't need to know that Britney flashed what she shouldn't have been flashing again. There is nothing interesting down there that I want to look at.

I love my wife dearly, but she's a celebrity news junky. Ever since she found out we can get E! on XM radio, I don't even get a break when I'm in the car. My only respite is on weekends when Leo Laporte is on with his show, 'The Tech Guy.'

Much of the problem has to do with the idea that as a society, we seem to want news 24/7. There really is only a certain amount of real news in any given day, so they have to come up with something. After they get through talking about Iraq, it's Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Paul McCartney's one-legged wife, and so forth.

We've done it to ourselves.
