of my, so far, :mad: week. Okay so I sent some pictures of my DD in dance class to my MIL. I did some unique PP on them and ordered them through my lab. My lab prints a copyright warning and my studio name on the back of each image.

I'm talking to my MIL...

MIL: Thanks so much for the pictures. I took them to C's house when I went and everyone just loved them.

ME: Oh no problem just let me know if you would like any more copies.

MIL: Oh that's ok we went to Target and they made us a bunch of copies.

ME: :evil: (not at my MIL because she's doesn't know any better but TARGET.....ggrrrr)

Thanks for letting me vent. Phew that feels better.

That's a bummer!!!

The least you can do is call up that Target and have a word with the manager. I assume Target prints their name on the back of the pics? Be nice but let them know that this was unacceptable and he should make sure it doesn't happen again.

That's great! Just hop on over to that Target with your lawyer and explain the multi-thousand dollar copyright violation lawsuit they are about to encounter. They'll probably settle out of court for $20 - $30K. Per image.

And then have your MIL take another set of pictures in to Target for you.:D

:lol::lol::lol: Bad..........

THat is unacceptable for a Big Box store not to follow the copyright rules....I would be having a few words with the manager, and staff.

I called and spoke with the very nice store manager at that Target and she was very nice. She said she knew that this type of thing happened (but obviously not at her store) and she would address it immediately with the staff in the photo center.

I definitely feel better.

I think that a lot of places have the "kiosks" for photo printing that allow someone to scan and print pretty much any picture unsupervised by any employees. I'm not saying that it is right...I'm just saying that I've seen them. Also, I believe that the person doing the copying is required, through one of the prompts, to acknowledge that they are not violating any copyright laws. It would be tough to enforce or to say that Target or any store is responsible when the consumer (copier) is the one violating the copyright. I'd still have a talk with both Target AND your MIL!
