Quick backyard pics: here (external link). Sorry no ducks..... just a few mutts. I have some studio work to shoot this afternoon and I'll go roam around a local lake in the morning.

TEXmax, I can't look at the RAW files yet due to being at work, but what do you feel about the sharpness on these shots? And what cameras have you been using before, just to get a general idea on what you are used to.:)

I have been quite impressed with what I've seen, not only in the sharpness and clarity, but in the absolute depth of what the camera can capture. The detail is amazing. By no means have I put the camera through it's paces but only snapped some shots around the house in between computer work (isn't that usually the case, you get something new and you end up being too busy to use it). Tomorrow I'll be shooting a '56 Chevy for publication and this weekend I'll be able to use the camera for some portrait and photojournalist work.... can't wait!

The cameras I use are the 5D and 1DIIn. The 5D is my main camera and the workhorse of my business. I've never shot professionally on film, so I cannot make a comparison there. Tomorrow a friend of mine and retired photog who shot High-Fashion primarily on Hasselblad will be stopping by to take a look...... that might be interesting because I've always received an earful about how great it is shooting on film and Hasselblad and Medium Format (you know how it goes).

Yeah, I know how it goes. That sounds great about the images though. Really looking forward to getting one in my hands and to looking at your RAW files. Thanks for to comments, it is appreciated.

Right click and click "Save File As." Your browser thinks the cr2 file is text and that it can read it, but it can't, so you need to manually save the file.

Been online 36 hours straight...my 1Ds mk III arrives tomorrow. I bought the first one sold on eBay (the first one listed has 2 hours to go in the auction).

For those who want to buy, here are a couple of options:

[1] There's a camera store in Hawaii selling on on eBay..auction open for another two hours: http://cgi.ebay.com …eName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=007 (external link)

[2] Cord Camera in Cleveland said their company had 3 or 4 in stock, but they won't take a credit card over the phone, so you have to drive to Ohio.

Haven't seen it on Amazon or B&H yet. It seems the little shops are getting onesies and twosies first.

Good luck to everyone.

Right-click if you have such a mouse or just press and hold Ctrl and click. Then do the same as above...
