Does anyone have any suggestions for a good travel kit for 1 week in China? I've got to work with a
10D,
100-400,
16-35/2.8,
24-70/2.8,
28-135 IS,
55/1.4
70-200 IS/2.8
EX550
Tripod

I want sometime to fit in my backpack (med size) and not leave too much back in the Hotel to sit all day.

I'd take the 10D, 16-35, 55 or 24-70 and the 70-210.

I travel on a motorcycle and my last trip I took my 300D and 620 bodies, 18-55, 28, 50, and 70-210, CP's, and cleaning kit. We relied on the built in flash on the 300D instead of carrying a flash. I don't carry a tripod due to space constraints involved in bike travel.

We found this kit to be very effective. If we wanted to go wide we put the 28mm on the 620 film body. Now you don't have that option but you do have the 16-35 zoom, which will get you the wide angle.

In the end we did not use the 18-55 due to it's sub-par optical performance, but you don't have that issue with the L's you're carrying.

I'd leave the 24-70, 28-135 and the 100-400 at home. I'd bring everthing else plus a monopod and perhaps a 1.4X extender.

Yes I do. Got it in 1988 if I remember correctly. It's been a long time.

Thanks for the advice.

BTW, I just bought a carbon tripod and 2x TC but haven't had time to try yet. I'll most likely take the TC and consider the mono instead of the tri....never used a mono before but seems owners really like them.
