I am a little late in getting some shots posted, but here are a select few from this years local airshow which finally had some sunlight during the day here...the year with no Thunderbirds

If you want to see any other shots, here is the gallery link if you feel like browsing through 500+ shots --> LINKY (external link)

Nice shots. It might be cool to shoot the c-17 with a very wide angle from that perspective.

Great shots Robert. :)
I'd love to go to any air show to shoot too, it has been ages.

The only suggestion that comes to mind would be a slower shutter speed, combined with panning, on the F15 to show more motion with the shot.

Thanks Zane. The widest I had was the kit lens, but I can imagine what your suggesting. I would like to be able to have a shot like that.

Get out there and shoot some airshows Jim!

I know what you mean on the slower shutter speed. That one was F/8 and 1/500", don't know what I was thinking. Although, the F15 was not really moving to fast during that landing, by show center, the plane was going slower than 100MPH.

The pilot was demonstrating how the F15 can land on a runway shorter than what is normal for the F15. The extreme angle, flaps and airbrake were all helping to slow the F15 down real fast and he kept that angle for about 2,000 feet before setting the nose down.

Thank you everyone for looking
