I've been busy busy busy lately with tons of shoots and events. I covered two Halloween parties friday. This one is at Solas and was a nice, quiet crowd. I got free dinner from the night, compliments of the owner, and a possible commercial contract for the restaurant.

Great job JBaz! And thanks for leaving in the EXIF.
How do you guys such sharp shots at such slow shutter speeds (1/5s - 1/15s).
I can barely get them sharp at 1/60s with flash.

I use proper breathing techniques along with proper bracing techniques to make sure my camera is stable when shooting. Similar to shooting firearms really. I also use the 2nd curtain sync when using flash and for those really long exposures (some are 1-2 seconds long) I used my monopod in the club.

Here's some more of another Halloween party at Mosquito later the same night.

Thanks Yap!
...and I've gotta remember to start putting my EXIF data up on my photos too. My bad everyone. Usually it's late at night/early morning when I put some of these up...I'll have to make myself a reminder the next time I upload...

Steady hands I guess? :) I use the Canon Wrist Strap, so it keeps my hand pretty much locked on to the camera.

So far my record is a steady shot at around .4", I normally shoot at 1/4.

Wow, cool shots everyone. I never knew this thread existed. Reminds me of the good old days before the wife and kid!! I was too busy partying to even think about taking a camera!
