the 40d has its uses. sometimes i miss it since the AF is sooo much better on the 40d then it is on the 5d. AI servo is good on the 5d when in good light, but everything else AF wise the 40d smokes it. 40d AF in the 5d would be glorious.

Some photos from last Tuesday. I used the Fong Dong on these. What do you guys think? Should I just get the thing or just stick with the Omnibounce?

Thanks!

I prefer your other ones.

Personally, I shoot with a 580EX2 off-camera with a OC-3 show cord. I've been using Lumiquest's Softbox III diffuser with the 580EX2 to soften up the light. Unfortunately, I have to get real close with the Softbox III or it gets directional and makes the shadows harsher.

The thing with the Fong is that I have to get a little closer to the subjects. I sometimes feel that there's some light wasted when the flash goes off.

What is it about these photos that you don't like as much as my other ones?

My 95 year old mother would outshoot him! D'uh! Any photographer who isn't pleasant/friendly to other working photographers should have ... well, a punishment I can't describe here! [I am a house photographer and have visiting photographers all the time so I know very well about "sharing" for the benefit of everyone.]

Although both are trying to emulate Ambrel, so that doesn't say much about either :)

Try using lumiquests pocket bouncer.

You don't have to get as close as you do with their softbox. You can usually find used versions of this on ebay in a variety of the kits lumiquest puts out.
