Nice, I was going to trade up of for the IV, but hope returned after the video upgrade will be coming for the 5D mkII. Personally, I prefer the 1.3x cf view than full frame, don't have to worry too much about vignetting even with the best glass.

Yup, I have a 1DsMIII (which will get upgraded in its time) and like the 1.3 better for most things. Dwight McCann

I expect to get a second after dust settles. My big issue is what to do with my two 1DMIIIs ... I'm thinking of using them to expand my remote shooting array rather than using my 5DMII. Since their resale value will be slim I'm thinking just having six bodies may be the right solution: the current four plus two 1DMIVs. And there's always somebody who would like to borrow one for an event.

[Disclaimer: for anyone who doesn't know me, I know I have much more equipment than talent or need but fortunately I don't have to justify any of it!] Yup, early 2010, Canon will release yet another firmware update to add all of the video settings and features that the 7D and now the new mkIV currently have. I've been waiting for the 24p setting on this 5D forever! Plus I think the 50 or 60 fps at 720p is pretty sweet for some slow action video replays. Camera Gear

It's why the ST-E2 is pretty much bolted to my camera body. I shoot a lot in low-light sans flash, and I always tell people that the $200 spent on it is worth it for the beam alone. I have zero need for an onboard flash, so if one was to make a DSLR with an ST-E2 somehow molded into it, I'd buy it. My stuff

Cool, but I'll still keep my ST for the AF beam. I have been thinking about ST-E2 recently about venturing into more off camera stuff (same club week in week out I want to go different now lol).

So say the flash is off but the ST-E2 is mounted on the body, does it still work as an AF assist beam? Apologies for my ignorance but ive not researched much into it. yes My Twitter: http://twitter.com/powersimagery
