^----I second that.
I started shooting in RAW about 6 months ago, and I've never looked back. The ONLY time I ever switch to JPG is if my memory cards are almost full and I still have more shooting to do.

You need the wide angle lens to take pictures of people right infront of you. A night club can get crouded so i doubt you will have the opportunity to step back and take a picture at 70mm. Because all the nightlife I shoot is only being printed in a magazine (which aren't that big of print), or not at all, and none of it is being post processed. 1DX x2 | 7D + BG-E7 | 16-35 L MK II || 24-70 MK II L | 70-200 f/2.8 IS MK II L| SIGMA 35 | SIGMA 50 | SIGMA 85 | SIGMA 15 Fisheye | 2x600EX-RT

Do you still keep the raw files after you have processed them? I keep all RAW files plus all .xmp files permanently. I also tend to keep all the .jpg's and .tif's I create as I am often asked for copies of images I have provided earlier. Since I use Lightroom I could just keep the RAWs/.xmps and regenerate but that's a bit time consuming and I don't always have LR available where I have my offsite backups. You should think of the RAW files like negatives, to be safely tucked away (backed up a couple of times.) Yes, it takes a lot of space but space is pretty cheap these days. Dwight McCann

I don't do much post other than sharpening, but with storage and speed being what they are now, JPG only just seems very limiting. Plus, RAW allows you to re-visit the files in the future with a better RAW processor, or different ideas on output. My stuff

Im supremely confident with jpg files. im not too worried about the file size but more so the time required as well as altering my workflow for these kinds of events. I dont plan on revisiting the nightlife shots. I dont edit them to begin with. My Twitter: http://twitter.com/powersimagery
