I'd like to try out some night club shooting... it's peaked my interest for a while!

How do you get started/get into the first club to shoot? And how on earth do so many of these pics come out so well? Between people being very drunk and a flash going off, how are these people's faces not completely ruined? hehe...

Thank you sir! I did the sync in Premiere Pro with the actual song, while muting the recorded audio :D

Aha, well, I guess I'll go with Premiere Pro when I get around to doing video! I'm looking to upgrade my workstation to Win 7 64-bit this summer and I'd like to do a little video editing.

I think that you may have to start from page 1 on this thread. It may take you a while but it will answer all of your questions:D

Drunk people do make for the best pics....Unless they are passed out or something:lol:

You guys shooting with 2 strobes, 1 on camera, 1 in left hand -

a) how does your right arm not get knackered with the weight? In fact I think my finger joints will suffer the most.

b) do you use ettl ratio A:B at 1:1?

You'd be surprised actually - when I first offered my services to the clubs I shoot at I went away thinking "What have I got myself into here? Who wants their photo taken when they're trying to have a good night?" and it turns out the answer is EVERYONE.

I notice that as soon as I have the camera and flash out in the club people start coming up to you and asking for a photo, or stopping you while you're walking and posing with their friends and want to know where the photos will be on the net... makes my job very easy!

I thought about that.. but at 600+ photos with questions/answers mixed in between TONS of photos... I don't know how I could ever do it! lol

You first (few) times, how did you actually approach it? Call the club, speak to manager.. go in person and hope to come back later? Through people you knew? Offer to do it for free at first to build your portfolio?

I walked into a small bar here in Tampa told them what I wanted to do and they said sure. As well I also emailed every single club I could find contact information from and was able to pull another couple clubs.

I have not taken pics since September but that's how I started.
