I'm have a huge issue over whether I should stump up the extra £800 to go for the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L over the TAMRON 17-50 f2.8

Will it really blow me away that much?

Having used the 16-35 before, I noticed a HUUUUGE difference in my photos...granted I haven't yet used the 17-50, but the build quality and autofocus on the Canon is undoubtedly better than the Tamron. As to whether or not it's worth it, no one can tell you that. I suggest renting before you make any decisions.

I'm sure it will. Never used the Tamron, or for that manner, any Tamron glass, but I was experimenting over the weekend with my venerable 16-35 and an old 24-85 piece of Canon glass and the differences were like night and day. I would sure hope so comparing a $150 lens to a $1000 lens.

Patrick M and Louis Puig from Space Miami decided to come up and spin at what has been dubbed "Space North" here in Tampa. I used a friend's Lumiquest 80-20 and was not a big fan of it. Oh yea, we had this Avatar themed gimmick going on as well.
