So i had a question...my Flash TTL CORD is STUCK on my flash. For some reason when i use a good amount of strength to pull it off...it wont budge. its as if its just STUCK.
Im not to sure what to do about it...any suggestions on how to maybe RIP it off the flash without affecting either the flash or cord?

have you tried levering each side of the shoe? with a thin flathead screwdriver or similar?

I had the same kind of problem on my 30D, but t turned out the lock had just stuck, so I locked it in again, wiggled it about, unlocked it and hey presto!

Patrick M and Louis Puig from Space Miami decided to come up and spin at what has been dubbed "Space North" here in Tampa. I used a friend's Lumiquest 80-20 and was not a big fan of it. Oh yea, we had this Avatar themed gimmick going on as well.

Ok guys, I've finally got my first proper gig sorted out. Now that its upon me I'm actually quite nervous, I never thought I would be.

Any final tips you can offer me? (As if I havent picked up enough from this thread already but feel free to share some new secrets).

The gig is on friday night in a club on Edinburgh so I've got a couple of days to get myself sorted out. I might grab an extra set of batteries for my 430EX II. Other than that I think I've got everything I need.

Cheers.

I don't have much experience at all; but if it's one thing that I think makes me stand out from the other nightlife photographers here is that I'm not STIFF. Most photogs I see when I'm out and about are just standing still, or moving through the crowd like they are disgusted with people. Real awkward.

Enjoy the music, get into the party state and you will notice everyone opening up to you much more since you're at their level already! :) If you find it hard to get into that state without your friends, grab a beer or two! It helps...

I''ll +1 this. I usually get to a gig, scout out the club and find some vantage points. I then head to the bar and have a shot and a beer, finish that while mingling and then take photos.
