So I have 2 big photoshoots tomorrow, I was testing my studio lights today and found both my sync leads are faulty..

this gave me the idea to sync my lights with my 430exII, which never really worked before with the flash on camera, but now with the extension cord, it works really well. throwing in another 2 360AFD flashguns (jessops own brand) giving me 2 studio lamps and 3 flashgun setup.

playing around today I got some wicked test shots, and using some coloured gels courtesy of one of the lighting techs in one of the clubs I cover, I now have some cool colours!

anyway the point of that rant was to basically say I'm going to try out a 2 flash setup on friday in the clubs as I found out today that my crappy 360AFD flashguns work alright as a slave. haha.

I wish I had the coordination to use two flashes in the club. 5dmk2 + 24-105 on camera with a 580exII on an off shoe cord is killer heavy. I couldn't imagine using two. lol

If they are going to be fired as slaves via optical sensor.. be careful because club lights will set them off.

These are from last nights Bonney Lake HS Seniors night out in Seattle's Last Supper Club. The seniors left on the motorcoach right after their ceremony.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. There's actually a lot of light in a nightclub if you know where to look and who to bother. Plus, with the excellent low-light characteristics of the MKII's sensor, you can seriously exploit it. Don't be afraid of high ISO.

LOL. You should see some of the places I shoot in. Very little to no ambient light. The shows I shoot for are more known for the music and vibe then they are the venue. :D

Two flash setup is uber easy, keep one on the camera and the other in the left hand, easy!

Last few DJs at Avalon were the "I like it dark" guys, so it was tough to get good pics. Luckally Digweed came by yesterday and The Mayan always has pretty good lighting (even if John does like it slightly darker :)

Interfit

I was running them off a generator as I was doing an outdoor shoot. but I don't have the stupidly expensive battery packs.

I think it might have been because didn't discharge one of the lights before I turned them off on a shoot I did earlier on in the day... as one of them was fine and didnt blow up.

oh well.. looks like a nice phonecall to the insurance company
