I just formatted my camera, an SD800, and it had an extremely important video on it that I forgot about. Is there any way to get it back?!

Jeez, you chicks and cameras

Have you tried the software that came with the memory card (if any)?

You can try one of the various rescue programs out there...SanDisk has one that comes free with their Extreme cards.

File recovery software - try a search on Google and you should find some links that may help with your specific media card.

How about the card in a dedicated card reader?

All I can suggest is try another file recovery program.

Just make sure you don't write to the card until you've found a solution.

None of these programs support usb cable to camera. I need a card reader for the programs to recognize the card. I have a card reader as in a playstation 3, not an ACTUAL usb card reader. I assume that's the only way to save my video, by getting a card reader. Yay for things I can't afford. :(

You can pick them up for about £10/$20 in your local store.

Plus connecting the camera to your computer to download images has been known to damage cameras. A card reader is the way forward.
