I used the watercolor filter on on of my photos and liked the result on the monitor.
Is there a place that I can send the file and have it printed? I have used Propics in the past but they say they are not yet set up for printing this type of photo (watercolor).
Any suggestions as to where and or how to print the file would be appreciated.

If you just like the look and want it printed on photo paper then any place that prints photos should be able to do it. Once the alterations are made and the file is saved as JPEG or TIFF it will be printed just like any other photo. You will be limited to the photo paper selections (glossy, matte, etc.) of the printer. My guess is that Propics thought you were asking if they could print on watercolor paper and they can't - maybe you are asking that!!

If you do want it printed on watercolor paper to make it more authentic then you will have to search for a printing service that offers watercolor papers as an option or experiment with them on your printer at home. While I have not printed on watercolor paper at home many have with great success. I have printed watercolor filtered pictures on matte paper at home with pretty good results on an old (10 years maybe?) Lexmark printer - so I say give it a shot!

Hope this helps!

Epson makes a Radiant White Watecolor paper. It is expensive. It is a wonderful fine art paper. Truly radiant white, too.

It is one of my favorite papers.

Cheers,

Mitch

Thank you for the information and advice.
What I am really looking for is a vendor that will print the photos from a JPEG, TIFF etc.
Thanks again.

I am still not clear on what you are asking - do you want recommendations of online vendors that make prints? or local vendors? On watercolor paper? What size prints?

If you want online prints I can't help much since I print my own. I have personally seen prints from Ofoto (Kodak's online processor) - even one that was like 20X30 - that were excellent. Have you tried local places like Sam's Club? I had some test prints done there that were very good for under $5 (8X10 is their limit, though).

The fact that you have used a watercolor filter has no impact on whether the file can be printed. Any place that processes digital photos should accept it on either a JPEG or TIFF (although some may take only JPEG's). An image is an image once it is saved as these file types and the filters applied in processing do not make a difference in printing.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ejwebb
I should have been more clear. I am looking for an online vendor who I can email a file for printing on watercolor paper. My printer is not quite up to the job and I am not quite ready to upgrade.
Thanks again for your help!
