Any one ever actually use these to fix or replace a body...How did it work. I've heard these are THE warranty to buy, but have never bought one. They are transferrable right?
Any input is greatly appreciated

They are transferable for a charge of 20$. I have used them for lens repair - no bodies. My experience was positive except for long turnaround. Mack generally gets mixed reviews.

Thanks, how long did it take? Was it repaired...or replaced? I've heard good things about mack warranties, seems like a good thing to get if for nothing else the added resale value.

The lens was repaired. It took about 6 weeks from the time they received it.

I buy Mack warranties because I live in Canada but usually get my gear at B&H. I had trouble getting warranty service here on goods bought in the US so I started going with Mack. If I lived in the US I definitely wouldn't buy an extended warranty. 95% of warranty related issues will show up within the first year and many credit cards double the manufacturer warranty - more than enough warranty. Anyway, good luck.

Where is that coming from? I've never heard of a credit card adding to the warranty of anything.

I believe it's American Express.

Ah, well with a $5000 body, I figure it's a good investment. Probably took 6 weeks because of the fact you're Canadian. Have a friend in Vancouver who's had 2 problems with his Canon gear, each time (same thing) took him over a month to get his gear back.
But, I'm the idiot who buys the extended warranty for the Cars, TV's and appliances too.
Thanks for the info

I had a Mark II with a back focusing issue and the turn around time was right at 1 month. Very Happy with MACK overall. You have to mail the defective product to New Jersey and then they send it to Canon for repair and then mail it back to New Jersey and then back to you. That's what takes so long. I would have no worries about buying another MACK warranty. ;)

RBC Visa Platinum and many others. Most premium cards offer it. I also get purchase protection. If it gets stolen or breaks within 90 days of purchase, even if it is accidental breakage, the item is replaced.

That's great to hear, doesn't sound like too much hassle at all...cool Thanks!

several UK cards will also add an extra year to warranty on any product purchased with it - likewise anything purchased for over £100 anywhere in the world is covered by the credit card company in the event of a fault and for whatever reason you cannot get the issue resolved easily with the supplier/manufacturer.
