Here' my first try with the brand spankin' new 70-200mm f2.8 shooting hockey. Please let me know how I may improve. I know I need to improve on composition...more action shots with face showing.

Here's some pictures of my boys Atom hockey game this weekend.

They look good, exposure wise. Looks like you are shooting thru glass, so you are losing about a stop of light.

You need to capture more faces, at least I think. There is not much interest in sides and butt shots.

Have fun with the new 2.8!

Nascarmaniac thank you for you response. Yes I was shooting through glass that was dirty. I agree that I need more faces and action shots...not too much action with young kids like this and some of these kids are first time hockey players let alone first time skaters. I will have to try and shoot bantams or midgets to get some action.

p.s. do you need someone to carry your gear or an assistant? LOL!

I think you got some nice shots and did a good job with the exposure and white balance.
