. . . is the Canon 17-55 IS than my Sigma 17-70? I'm looking to upgrade either this combo or my 70-200 f/4 for the 2.8 IS. I use the Sigma much more than my 70-200 but I'm more satisfied with the Sigma than I am the f/4. Anyone help me out here about which to upgrade first? Anything I'm not taking into consideration? Thanks

Canon 40D, Sigma 17-70, Sigma 10-20, nifty 50, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 70-200 4L, 70-200 f/2.8 IS, 430 EX, Manfrotto monopod, tripod and ball head, Tamrac MAS system

Being that you are using the 17-xx range much more than the tele, I would try to get the best for that range.

Not sure on the Sigma, but the 17-55 IS is a great lens.

Also, the need for IS would be a big factor in all this.
