On the subject of learning, does anyone have any tips for using my new lens? (70 - 200 L IS)
I went outside when I finally got home with it yesterday tokk a few shots of some birds etc and nothing really came out that well, had plenty of light and 500 shutter speed with IS on so it shouldnt be that, but I was using F/2.8, would this be too narrow a DOF for a telephoto lens? I thought it would have simply blurred the background more and made the subject stand out but perhaps it was too much? Sorry about the noob question, but since you guys are my new family now I feel I can ask you anything :D (when you drunken sods finally arise that is)

right - are U2 a Christian rock band ?

No, I saw an interview where Bono was asked that exact question. Very political though.

Practice with an upside down teaspoon until you get the hang of it. Just rest the tip of the spoon against the side of the glass...

Ahhh, yeah I inquired about that and havn't stopped received info packs from them since LOL

I am in two minds on these kinds of courses, I did a diploma of multimedia about 6 years back now and pretty sure I never learnt a damn thing, knew it all already and what I didn't know I have learnt on internet based tutorials. Can't help but think the same about a photograhpy course. There is sooo much material out there already and helpful souls in forums like this that it almost seems a waste. The main thing I see about a course ina creative industry is the learning environment it provides, and since this is correspondance it doesnt even provide that. What does everything else think?

i mainly booked mine so that i would have a qualification to show if any clients ever cared to ask... so far, none have
