Post one of the shots so we can see.

I have tried a few different settings, shooting in raw, this was taken at iso100, f/6 and 1/200 using autofocus so to me it should be nice and sharp!

I have taken about 150 and none have come close to sharp.

The image below is a 100% crop and absolutely no PP and saved for web at 60% compression jpg, but hasnt altered too much at all, the muddy appearance was part of the image not .jpg compression.

The camera was tripod mounted and I had IS off for this. Body is 400D.

Oh, sorry, 1 thing to note is I did have my Jessop 2x extender on it for this shot, but the ones I took lastnight without the extender where very similar.

ANY input greatly appreciated.

If your gut and eyes tell you the lens is not right then 90% time you are right

Did you get some come back with the seller of the lens? May have to send to Canon to get checked over.
I got done with trademe on a 70-200 a yr back and I knew it wasnt right. Oh whats the date code on the bottom of the lens
2 letters 4 numbers that will tell you how old it really is

No, I saw an interview where Bono was asked that exact question. Very political though.

he would say that as to admit this would seriously harm the record sales. Its all about marketing. these boys are more Christian than the pope.

Happy New Year everyone!

Man you guys can yack!

I've spent 3 days in Rotorua catching trout, and new years at a mates farm, we're of all the odd things to do, we went possum shooting at midnight
Nailed a couple too, I thought I had forgotten how to shoot.

Just caught up on the reading, and some nice photos.

So long and thanks for all the flash
