Here's where we spent the day today :) What a fantastic start to 2008. On the back of a launch out the back of Waiheke Island, cold drinks and catching fish...

Hmm, I seriously hope its not the lens, I'll be going back to him if it is. He told me it was in perfect condition. We'll find out tomorrow. I'll ask Nzshrimper to bring his and we'll shoot the same thing and compare.

Think its more the carpenter than the tools... hope so anyway.

hmm, but you went to quite an extreme to eliminate the carpenter from the equation... tripod, no IS, etc

i hope you sort it

Actually there was one... poor girl :) heh had a reasonable fish on it then all of a sudden it was wisked away by something rather large. Kinda glad we didnt get that up on the boat. A few good snapper and a terakihi were enough :)

Just checking....how's 2008 going so far?

We still have about 25 minutes of 2007 left. I'm just wondering if I should be looking forward to the new year or not.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

if it's any help, I suspect the fence looks better than the bird, which I suspect moved while the shot was being taken.
Last shot I posted with mine certainly was pretty cr@ppy until being edited with genius.
(TV 1/80 is far too slow @200mm to try & catch anything moving quickly i.e. more than 9.8 meters per second)
Test stuff that should be well within capabilities & see how it goes, don't rely on IS to make the shot any better (work on the theory that if it is better with IS then thats a bonus)
UT date code should be 2005...

Supposed to stop box jellyfish and other creatures that lurk beneath. Doesn't stop Irukandji (external link) which are equally as nasty and far smaller than the holes.
