Nice shot. It looks like I'm going to be out there tomorow evening/night.
Then I gotta fly home on Sunday (maybe even via Christchurch hehe)

Evening all, I remember why I hate roofing, its too go**amb hot!. I also lost the coin toss & did most of the cutting, sore hands now.

Bethells, while nice last night with the family, was not great for sun-sets, no clouds!

Could spend a bit of time there but conditions have to be right, quite a good drive, came back via Scenic Drive. There's a great city lights viewing area up there, (lovers lane really). Going too fast to attempt to turn arround, so some other time.

Only things worth showing were B&W conversion. I printed this one out A3, had a slight purple cast on a certain section of the sky graduation straight out of the printer but 10 minutes latter, it had gone, so all good.

Happy new years all. Well im back from my new years holiday from matapouri. Just loaded 379 pictures onto my pc. Was a great holiday and absolutelty flew by. Good times, good memories. Im darker than ever. But it was fantastic.

I actually read through i think 40 pages that i missed. Cool to see people planning and meeting up. I really liked the muriwai ones the rusted steel ones. And Tony's epic dive very cool. I too jumped off a massive rock, one of the highlights of the trip.

yeee... Im probably going away again to whangapoa in 2 days. But other than that its great to know that everyones still around and kicking in 2008 :) Me going to keep posting :p

Forgot to mention, SS i love the natural, simple photos. Warren, John is right. I did enjoy that photograph, nothing like urban :)

That reminds me....someone a few pages back was asking if u2 are a christian band. Well I am a long time fan of their music, and have read both U2 by U2 (big fat book about their lives by them) and Bono on Bono (a book of transcipts of interviews with Bono) plus various other stuff. What they say about the topic I would sumurise like this: They seem to think about themselves as 4 christians in a rock band, rather than being a christian rock band. Untill a few years ago it was 3 christians and another guy, but now it is all 4 of them. So they are not out to convert you through their music, but their beliefs are plain to see in many of their lyrics. If you have any sort of christian background, as I have, you will recognise them. But they are not so in your face as a "christian band" and are much more "human" and real. IMHO of course.

yikes. Its hard to shoot in the summer time. I only shoot in Manual but its hard to expose for the correct lighting. In a way that it looked on the day. Some of my shots are under exposed i think. Its strange but i dont get a sense of the strong sunlight in some of my shots.

Could it be the lens hood thats stuffing up my exposure sensor thingy?

lol, yeah it is. I am so used to shooting in overcast, urban kind of environments. These sunny days are a new thing for me. I have to remember to expose it for the damn blue sky. Use the light. Argg! ah well. I totally know what you guys mean by how great sunset photos can be.

Camping with perfect lighting at sunset is amazing. You can take a photo of anything and it would look great :)
