How to scare yourself. Take one 'clean' lens. Fire flash through it and photograph:

hmm that's interesting also scary. so are you going to take apart your lens to clean all the glass elements ?

Glad you like it. One of the gang that took my camera out down here recently seems to have got sand into the focusing ring of my 24-70. Makes a grinding sound, still works but I doubt it will ever be a 'minter' again! :(

Cheers, Dave.

Wendy - new gear - Awesome :)

Mark, still hope you had a grand day yesterday

I just went up to Shelly Beach - flatty, friend and flatty's son are camping / fishing etc. Man cave boy stuff.
But they forgot chairs, food, pillows etc, so I was off to the rescue. 2 hours of driving later, and a few beers in between, I'm home :)

Off to photograph outdoor Pizza ovens in action. Anyone got any tips?
I've been looking forward to photographing this place, it's an uber entertainment set up.

Thats not good, can Canon service it and get it mint again? What one of the gang, who? Like a mate of yours borrowed it?

Dont worry about it Dave. Eventually the focusing ring will grind the sand into small enough particles. lol... My Sigma has got a lot of sand in the focusing ring :p

So this GKPE events thing. Where are we heading for the one coming up?

Oh yeah and Wendy ill see how things go, about those magazines. Might be away, then have job interviews coming up. Wow you work at ACP media. I applied for a job there and got denied :p my cv was not good back then. Nice to know you work in the media industry though. Ill be working in advertising if all goes well.

Thanks Kirst, man cave boy forgot all that stuff? Nice of you to help out.

Is it going to be dark when you do the pizza oven shoot The only time I did a pizza oven photo was here, I wanted the guy blurred tho, for effect, honest.
f5.6 ISO200 and 1/15secs. No flash. Up the ISO and the shutter speed if you want peeps in focus then. Hope that helps a bit, but youre prolly gone by now

I got sand in my polariser filter and eventually it ground away too, and its fine.

Yeah Im a web developer at ACP and work in the online area. Advertising is great to work in, good luck. You have only started out so hang in there, it takes a lot of time and perseverance and hard work to get there, a pinch of luck to. And just when you do, you get retrenched like me, last Xmas, from Xtra/Telecom, after 7 years there. So you have to start out again....

Geez I have to go back to work monday after 5 weeks off, my brain will be like mushy potatoes. I should have gotten my new gear at the beginning, not the end of the break
