hmm that's interesting also scary. so are you going to take apart your lens to clean all the glass elements ?

Yeah, and puck the IS in the process... Haven't noticed any issues with my photos, so quite happy to leave well alone, despite what my little experiment showed up.

In other news, Anyone seen this before: http://www.antiyawn.com/photography.html (external link)

"My purpose in writing this article is to inform the public about what makes a good photograph. Some people (like my mother) will look at the picture below and think it's great and happily fork over about $400 for it. They say ignorance is bliss, which it is, but in this case, it's just costly. As you read this, you might be thinking that this photograph is spectacular, but I'm here to tell you that there are several egregious problems with it that a decent photographer would know to fix, resulting in a much better photograph."

Interesting read..

It is interesting. However I'm 100% sure the photographer couldn't sell the photo for $$$$ if he hadn't done a bit of PS work.
In the article he claims that the photographer didn't get to know him. How much time did he have? Difficult in a 10 min shooting.
I agree that the lighting could be more from the side and that the photoshop work was a bit muvh, particularly on a young man.

Ok, definitley 24-70, maybe the 17-40 (for wide) and definitely the 1.4Ex.
FInancially, I have to stick with the 20D, but doing tests this past week proved its still working well, just have to hang in there a bit longer for my IDS MK III
;)

Oh Kirst, this is going to be real shiney, nice shiney new toys at LAST :D. Ive been really patient for ages now.

Back later

Oooooh Goodey goodey

wendyc wrote in post #4633159 (external link)
If I had a gear list I would change it but yes, a sig change should do it, do you think? Im so excited :D.

OK so I got the 24-70, 10-22 and the 1.4 extension for my 300mm. I also got a really good polariser which Paul gave me at a really good price, top of range that lets more light in, (I use mine all the time), and UV filters. Luckily both new lenses are same dia, ie 77mm.

My son is stoked because he gets the hand me down lens which is much better then his kit lens. So when I upgrade body he will still use the 20D and 10-22 but for now I have a nice wide angle.

Wow.. Congratulations. Some great gear there. I am going to get the 24-70 sometime soon too!

wendyc wrote in post #4633836 (external link)
I got sand in my polariser filter and eventually it ground away too, and its fine.

Yeah Im a web developer at ACP and work in the online area. Advertising is great to work in, good luck. You have only started out so hang in there, it takes a lot of time and perseverance and hard work to get there, a pinch of luck to. And just when you do, you get retrenched like me, last Xmas, from Xtra/Telecom, after 7 years there. So you have to start out again....

Geez I have to go back to work monday after 5 weeks off, my brain will be like mushy potatoes. I should have gotten my new gear at the beginning, not the end of the break

You won't be able to concentrate as you will only be thinking of your new gear.

theflyingkiwi wrote in post #4633848 (external link)
Just think how I feel, start work on monday after not working for 11 months.

By the way.. I forgot to mention it earlier. Happy Birthday.

Congrats on the new job & good luck! Hope you can turn off the forum addiction when you have to be working!!

Taken with something with a high frames per second, then merged would have been my guess.
