IThat would depend entirely what you plan on doing in the UK in my opinion, or indeed, where you're going. I may be biased but the UK aint all it appears to be as far as I'm concerned.

Europe is right next door & there is heaps to see and do there. Just remember that travel and living costs mones. Camping is pretty expensive in Europe. Though there are cheap ways of doing everything. Often depends on the partner though. I could sleep under a bridge if I had to to be in a cool place & so I had money left over to do more things, my wife wouldn't be too keen on that though. Now we have a camping bus.

I am the 1st generation of my family born outside of Europe... and the only one of my family to have not been back.

So , the holiday would be for the following...
  • To finally meet family.
  • To see where my family / parents came from and get a better appreciation of things they've described.
  • To see the world more. I would use UK as a home base and travel from there.
  • Use it as a 'taster'. My other half ( bless her soul ) is constantly naggng me that NZ is too small of an oyster for her.

Go for it and take as much time as you can. As mentioned If you did have children at some stage (My mouth is clean) then that puts a pretty sudden end to travel plans & any spare money.

Most of those designer jobs are ridiculously underpaid in NZ.
Graphics/design/art were my top subjects at school, yet when I saw the income you can earn off it, decided to get do get into finance. Not happy though. :o

Thanks Peter :)

Good ol' cameras here:

Just sent a folder of images to a family friend, snapped those at a wedding a few months again - nothing serious

But as a way to see the output quality from a 1D III and 50 1.4

Impressive quality.
I love the last one.

Right, in which case you need more than three weeks. if you're basing yourself in the UK, then make sure you're stopping somewhere that UK residents would deem 'a nice place' as the typical UK drudgery of urban suburbia will make the experience painfully underwhelming. As for Europe it depends where you wanna go, I can (as I'm sure can Pete) point you at quite a few cool things to do in Europe.

I'm sure I could sort something out.

Like Oktoberfest can be cool. Or a tour of the sewars under Munich I would also find pretty cool.

Well I successfully reshot the portrait session last night - apart from our outdoor location - will have to do that when we get back from Aussie.. The family seemed most understanding - while I felt like a complete tool.

The twins are the youngest, eldest daughter of to Uni in Feb. (still deciding which one) and eldest son doing 5th form (whatever year that is) this year.

Yep, a bit of a handfull, why do you think I spend so much time at work?;)
