Love the first photo - Dave.
Only got as far as reading your write up on that one - you got it in one.
We do things just because we want to... not because everyone else is..

My most recent, and still currently, my final images are up on Flickr.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/manipula/ (external link)

Been looking at them for a few weeks, wanted them done and dusted.

Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow!

Dave you are a very very very talented guy!! It wasn't just the photos that hit me, but the comments that you have written under them. They really spoke to my heart. I couldn't stop looking at the photos and reading the comments. The photos are really good, but when you read what is said about each photo they spring to life and have meaning. I feel like I was there. I wish I had your tallent at thinking and communicating what you whee thinking and feeling when you where taking a photo. I wish I had your tallent of taking pictures of the actual person, and not taking what I want to see. I truly hope you find your way through this, and would love to be able to experience more of your awsome work.

hmmm.. might just do that. I didn't think u can bargain with them? they got the same one for $2099.

Tell them your bottom line and let them crunch some figures.
Its a good idea to have gear with warrantees and get it immediately.
I like to pick my lucky numbers onthe serial #s so, it doesnt hurt to ask.
Camera shops are in tough times, wouldnt want to lose them.

I don't kno the circumstancves, but the fact that you went out of your way and re-shot must speak volumes to them, Serra :)

Their photos disappeared off my HDD never to be seen again so I really had no choice :)

hmm, i just found one of my pro portraits from a shoot i did a year ago on a facebook profile... i decided to tag the person with my photo credit and then message her to ask her to accept the tag, so ppl can see who took it. the pic already has attracted a comment by a viewer for creativity

im thinking i should have offered e-mail size photos in the deal with my watermark on, rather than just the clean fullsize prints

A lot of those baby photos I did have ended up on Facebook too - along with a few others I've done for people that are now on my blog (they've taken them from there I presume).. luckily the images are watermarked :) If some of them arent most are quite happy to add "Photo taken by...." on the bottom which is fine by me.

I'll give them a call tomorrow. Interestingly enough they show no vacancies in the right area in Wellington currently on their site, but you got to give it a go anway.

Even if agencies dont have jobs listed they often have some that they dont list. Once you sign up with them they usually go out of their way to place you in a job after finding out exactly what you're after. And as soon as jobs come in that are suitable they would send you before they even advertised it :)

A bunch of Canon bits and pieces.

Umm need to get a trailer at lunch time to load it all up. Get it home and sand it and re polish.
Perfect as its the same as the house

To make it photography related I will be able to put my photography books in it.

Becides a number of us been in IT, there seems to be a number that are also in design as well.

Makes me wonder how our "trade" effects the way we see therefore the way we photograph.

I think we are all on par with Peters statement :)

I've seen two very definite styles emerging, both Serra, Dave and Chris's. The creative flare is stunning from each of them

ok, uh, dave? you are officially not allowed to sell your camera. take as long a break as you like, but if you sell your gear, i can pretty much guarantee you will find a bunch of p1ssed off kiwis on your doorstep the next morning, in various stages of grumpy depending on how long it has taken to drive there... and you will have to answer to us as well as bob... something im not sure you are up for! ;)

im with bob
my faves from that first lot, the girls sleeping, the apple martini & the turbine
