Thank's .. and that's my Dad in the grey shirt holding the camera:rolleyes:

Month... umm Wisteria flowering means very beginning of summer so I guess October perhaps. I got the camera for my birthday. It was a Medium format TLR. Used 120 film & made 6 x 6 negatives. Damn I wish I still had it, but my mum recently gave it away!

haha - ok lets go with October......... I was 1 month old then..... :D

That reminds me there was a Photoshop question I wanted to ask.

Last night I tried to create an action that inserts my watermark as a smart group layer onto a picture and repositions it to the bottom right corner of an image regardless of if the image orientation is portrait or landscape or if the image size isn't exactly the same.
I found after placing a layer there was no action that moved to bottom Right and worked in an action. I found the allign button & this works great when using a mouse, but is not recorded in an action.

The only thing Idea I have is to rotate the image 180 degrees, place my signature layer upside down at position 1,1 then rotate back 180 degrees.

That looks confusing what I just wrote.. hope you can understand what I am getting at.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

I have this sussed at home. Will post the answer later on.

And Heath Ledger has died - starring in one what seems like another great Batman movie later this year.

Yea I just heard it on the radio, such a shame

Nice set there Dave. Im also a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock. I think photography is about style. Anyone can point a camera and shoot. But its the style that counts! :)

So what are the odds on Amy Winehouse being the next to go?

If she doesn't get help now, I wont be suprised if she bites the dust before this year ends.

Judging by the fact she's 24 - my age - and looks 40 in her pics.. Pretty soon.

Let us not get to carried away with Dave's work. After all he is qualified
Lets face it most of us are just babies with no formal training in photography.
Except SS who has been shooting since she was 5

...3 actually  - but i dont pretend to any great skill for most of my early years lol
LOL
unfortunately i have no photos from that era, when my nanna moved house a lot of my early childhood disappeared while in storage
but it was one of those cartridge loading jobbies, and it was blue and black
i do however have my second ever camera, alos a cartridge loader but all black

Well just got a whole lot of rimu shelving thanks to school. Man they have no idea on money. Its was meant for a bin. What a waste. Not now.

Umm need to get a trailer at lunch time to load it all up. Get it home and sand it and re polish.
Perfect as its the same as the house

To make it photography related I will be able to put my photography books in it.

Oh nice :) I like natural timbers, although all of my shelves are made from MDF. Ah well compacted cardboard is better than no shelves I guess

huh ! - mines more luck than judgement.. I am still a newbie learning every day... its nice to try new things, I just wish i could get the hang of lighting and my PP is shocking..

Don't worry old boy I think you have a few years in you yet ;)

I disagree. Style is a part of it, yes, but it's a lot of different things to a lot of different people. I don't think that many of the iconic pictures taken over the last century or so had a lot to do with glossy magazines and billboards. :p

Yes.

Background is a bit busy in N0 2. You can throw it a bit more out of focus by getting the people further from it and using a wider apertuer, but be careful that you don't open up too much & not get the whole group in focus.

Hey, thanks for that :) noted for future reference... i kind of knew it, but was a little nervous and stuff as heaps of other family and friends were around watching LOL ..

ok, I just emailed Auckland Camera to see what deals they can srub up for me for a 17-55mm IS and the 70-200mm F/2.8 none IS. :P

Yes I am still torn between the two lens. The 17-55mm to replace my 17-85mm as my main lens OR keep the 17-85mm as main lens & grab the 70-200mm for extra reach, sports, birding, etc...

I guess I'll see how they respond and take it from there. Am more than likely leaning over to the 17-55mm - due to the fact I could trade my 17-85mm for a pretty good prize which will reduce my spending cost down. I could also trade my 75-300mm if I grab the 70-200mm, but I'll get stuff all for that and will also increase my spending in which the missus have blown my cover and had given me the "look". I quivered, I guess I lost! :P

Yeah Nick at Auckland Camera is great.

Bought the 1D III through them back in June.
Plus bought a 5 year extended warranty for a further $149.

Need to get the camera blue dotted (replace mirror box / AF assembly) - even though I'm sure the camera works fine.
My 120-300 needs fixing too. But I'm very tempted to grab a 70-200IS when I'm back in NZ.
