Nice! Just don't get him too used to being behind bars... the subconscious is a scary receptacle of memories that sometimes need to be relived...

Hey guys, just caught up on the pages. Umm I agree with finding some kind of job that is close to the industry. I know that being in employment makes yah feel so much better. I actually feel a sense of pride going to work.

I feel that there is a bit of luck in jobs. This is the email i sent that got me a job at Telstra Clear.

Hi Nalinee

Thanks i got the message. Looks like ill be looking for another job now :)

Thanks for getting me the job at DBM. Its was fun.

Regards.
Mathew Wong

She basically left a message on my answering machine saying that I dont have the job at DBM anymore because they have put a project on hold. So i sent her that email. Dave. If you want a job that is close or even in your field. Sign up to Madison. They will call you up and arrange an interview. They will talk to you and shake your hand. Next minute they will have a job for you.

Currently im still training (1week). Im finding sales very hard. I am not good with numbers. I find it hard to keep up with the training. But the trainer told me that I am a person that likes to learn it on his own and cant learn off others. He said that I use my hands to talk and thats how he knows. Like I explain things through my hands. lol..

He said he is the exact same. He told me to just take in as much as I can and ill learn on the way. But man I suck at calculating minutes etc. Im going to have to study up on all these different plans. Its scary. But im actually getting an idea of hard work. Not dumb stuff.

Hmm people said i should be doing inbound calls instead of outbound. I wish i could. But ill learn sales. Its bloodie intense though.

Matt, on the job front... my 2cents worth.... and not wanting to dampen your spirits. Headhunters are not there to find you a job. They are there to fill their quotas. So, if you are a round peg and they need a square one they will chuck you out the door pronto.

Go to the library and borrow a book called: What Color Is Your Parachute. It goes into how to get the job you want. It is hard work but the rewards are there.

The best jobs are never advertised. You find them through networks and by making a plan. As Tony mentioned the other day: "If you fail to plan..." We are all salesmen/women. We need to sell ourselves well if we want to get the job... though admitedly, there are some factors that hinder us from getting them. Bottom line is you need to specifically target the companies that you want to work with/in and then call on them, find someone who works there, and then do a sales pitch.

Oh noes!
What brand?

LOL no brand, a really cheap set of 3 that i got from payless plastics about 12 years ago... the super annoying part is that NO ONE ANYWHERE is making cheap china mixing basin sets any more - so to replace it with a new set is going to cost me anywhere from $55 to $75 !!!

not impressed

i went to: warehouse, bb&b, farmers, kmart, $2 shop, pak n save, plastic box, living & giving & briscoes - and the only place that was even close (ie HAD glass or china mixing bowls in stock) was briscoes... but they wanted to sell each bowl separately from $15-$30 each depending on size!

i dont want steel, cant put them in the microwave (and ive got some already) and i dont want plastic cos they look crappy when you serve food from them on the table, and scratch too easily

so, you better not get me started or you'll hear all about it ;)
(oh, right, i should have put that warning at the TOP of my post)
